my life is perfect

"I fear all we have done is awaken a sleeping dragon"
Tue May 27

Remember when I said I was in 6 weddings this summer….

….well make that 5.

This morning was honestly the strangest phone call of my life.  I got to work at 8:30AM and there was a message on my desk that read:

“Sarah: Jason Campbell called Friday afternoon.  Wedding cancelled, postponed til Cait’s wedding July 26th. Left no return number”

So I had no idea what that meant.  Jason = good friend from high school. Who is getting married in two weeks to Ashley, one of my sorority sisters from UWF.  Cait is a girl I have known since 1st grade, who also went to high school with us.  Her wedding to Nick is on July 26, 2008.  Or so we thought.

Jason called on Friday and asked to hang out Sunday, told him I was going to DC but he was more than welcome to join.  He declined.  Turns out he met up with Cait this weekend and together they decided to call off their own previous weddings to two other people and get married to each other.  But since Cait’s parents have already paid all this money she is going to keep her date, dress, cake (with name change), church, catering, etc…

I was for the first time in my life unaware of what to say.  And before i could utter a word, Jason informs me that Cait told him to let me know if I wanted to wear the dress i already bought for HIS wedding to THEIR wedding it would be okay.  (hmmm….i wonder if Ashley knows this?)

The only problem is that they are catholic and the priest needs a representative to vouch for Jason because of the quick nuptuals.  So he called to ask if i would do it.  hmm….

Best Part: Last night Jason came over for our memorial day BBQ at the casa de falkenstein.  Did he mention it? Nooo When my mom said “are you excited about getting married?” did he say Oh just kidding in a spur of the moment decision, I am now marrying your ex-girl scout. So yeah I have gotten nothing done all day today because I’m pretty much distracted by HOW IN THE HELL this happend!! But oh well.

Even Better BEST PART: Around noon today I get another phone call from Jason.
Jason: “sarah, we have another problem”
me: “now what?”
Jason: “The ring I gave Ashley has my great-grand-mother’s diamond in it.  I need it back to give to Cait. Will you call Ashley?”
me: “CLICK”

What is it with Boys and Weddings? I have yet to speak to Cait, OR Ashley (her Bachelorette Party is Saturday night…) But this is going to be a more entertaining summer than we all planned because who can’t see this brilliant plan backfiring.
